This year we are doing things a little differently. We’ve hosted amazing people and had incredibly fun times over the last few years at Camp St Croix in Hudson, WI while chasing the magic experienced at Maplelag Resort following the loss of that beloved spot. St Croix still doesn’t quite feel like the right venue and expenses have also been increasing there. In order to host a wonderful and sustainable event, the Geese have been looking into options that are enticing to people as well as affordable.
We believe we’ve found a potential partnership with Camp Knutson in Crosslake, MN. The caveat is that we will be having a smaller than usual event as we build a relationship with the camp. We’ll be opening registration soon for MiniMoose 2026 for a group of up to 75 people (including current Geese). Programming will be on the lighter side than usual (no “other” dance style, fewer workshops) and led by Geese and friends. The fee will also be a lower rate to reflect those differences. Attendance will be for the whole weekend (March 13-15) on a first come, first served basis. So watch closely for further instructions!
We understand that this information comes late compared to our typical schedule and also at a very difficult time for Minnesota. The WGCC truly hope we can still come together to dance, learn, and celebrate Appalachian clogging and old-time music. We’re looking forward to doing just that with those of you who are eager to continue the long tradition of Moosejaw and support the event and our community through a transition. If all goes well this year, we’d be able to increase attendance in 2027.
We will be updating this page soon with registration information.
